Claude-Maurice ended last season on the sidelines after an ankle knock in the Gladbach game kept him out of the Union Berlin finale, but there's no sign the issue has carried into preseason, as the Frenchman is back on the training pitch with Augsburg beginning preparations under coach Manuel Baum. The bigger storyline now is whether he'll even be at Augsburg come August, as after two years in which he has consistently been one of the club's best players, there is market interest in him. If he stays, he will likely again be the focal point of Augsburg's attack and their main source of creativity in the final third.
