Goalkeeper Waiver Wire Pickups – Fantrax & Sleeper GW22

Lucas Perri, Leeds United (3% Fantrax, 8% Sleeper)

Perri hasn't been great in terms of fantasy production, but he'll get another solid opportunity at points when Leeds host Fulham on Saturday. While Fulham are a solid side, it seems unlikely they'll post a huge goal total with an implied total just above one. While that's not a ringing endorsement for Perri, sometimes you only need a few points at the keeper position to be useful.

Defender Waiver Wire Picks - Fantrax & Sleeper GW22

Ian Maatsen, Aston Villa (29% Fantrax, 20% Sleeper)

Maatsen hasn't shown the type of attacking upside that I expected when he originally moved to Aston Villa, but he's a solid streaming option this weekend in a home match against Everton. Villa remain in excellent form and while I wouldn't expect much going forward from Maatsen, his defensive floor will get a boost with Villa having the third-highest clean sheet odds of the Gameweek.

Timothy Castagne, Fulahm (2% Fantrax, 3% Sleeper)

Castagne has been starting as Fulham's right-wing-back of late and it's helped his attacking output from the flank, totaling six crosses and three chances created in his last three league appearances. Castagne has yet to have a goal involvement this season, but a role further up the pitch will help his ability to find one while a matchup against Leeds isn't one to fear.

Midfielder Waiver Wire Picks - Fantrax & Sleeper GW22

Curtis Jones, Liverpool (21% Fantrax, 21% Sleeper)

Jones is in a nice run of form with eight and 8.5 points scored in his last two starts, combining for five chances created despite having a limited role in terms of attack. Liverpool players should be popular this week with the home matchup against Burnley, and Jones is one of the few low-owned options readily available on waivers.

Pascal Gross, Brighton (39% Fantrax, 18% Sleeper)

Gross returned to Brighton after a year and a half away at Borussia Dortmund and already has two full 90s under his belt, scoring 4.5 points during a 1-1 draw with Manchester City. Gross' best days may be behind him, but the last time he was on Brighton he was one of the best players for fantasy purposes in the Premier League with 14 goal involvements, 104 chances created and 238 crosses.

I wouldn't anticiapte that type of output again, but Gross could be a fantasy difference maker if he can wrestle away a set-piece monopoly like he had in 2023/24.

Forward Waiver Wire Picks - Fantrax & Sleeper GW22

Mathys Tel, Tottenham (29% Fantrax, 22% Sleeper)

Tel has started two straight matches and broke out against Bournemouth with 25.5 points which included his first goal since November. One of the beneficiaries of Brennan Johnson's departure, Tel will look to solidify his grasp on a starting role in the Spurs attack during Saturday's home match against West Ham.

While Tel is in rumors to go on loan elsewhere, the new hamstring injury to Richarlison could change those ideas.

Taty Castellanos, West Ham (21% Fantrax, 13% Sleeper)

Castellanos signed for West Ham and was immediately inserted into the starting XI where he scored 6.5 points during last week's 2-1 loss to Nottingham Forest. MLS fans may remember Castellanos from his time at NYCFC where he posted big goal totals earning him a move to Europe.

He's coming off of a 10-goal, three-assist campaign at Lazio and should continue to lead the line for the relegation threatened Hammers for the rest of the season.

Final Thoughts: Fantrax & Sleeper Waiver Wire Picks for GW22

With fixture congestion increasing and rotation becoming more common, proactive waiver wire management is critical in Fantrax and Sleeper leagues. Targeting players with improving roles, secure minutes, and favourable short-term fixtures can provide a meaningful edge during Gameweek 22 and beyond.

As always, monitor team news and starting lineups before kickoff to maximise the value of your waiver claims.
