Talita Alencar

Brazil
Booked vs. Polastri
Alencar will take on Julia Polastri in a strawweight bout at UFC Vegas 116 on April 25, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Alencar has won two straight UFC bouts, most recently disposing of Ariane Carnelossi in the third round of a fight back in November via Rear Naked Choke. That pushed her record in the promotion to 3-1, and she'll look for win No. 4 against an opponent in Polastri who is also coming off a victory her last time in the Octagon.

Enters free agency with win
Alencar defeated Ariane Carnelossi via submission (rear-naked choke) at 4:36 of Round 3 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Alencar got the stoppage win she came for, but it was a boring fight and as a -225 favorite, it would have been nice if she was a bit more dominant throughout. It didn't start well for Talita. She got blitzed with several power shots from Carnelossi early on. Eventually, however, her grappling game took over. All told, Alencar landed five takedowns for 6:10 worth of control time. She was lightyears better than her opponent on the mat, so it's no surprise the submission eventually materialized. Alencar said before the bout that this was the last fight on her UFC contract, so she is entering free agency with a victory. The Brazilian just turned 35 years old, but sporting a 3-1 record with the company, the UFC will probably offer her a new deal.

Facing Carnelossi in Vegas
Alencar will take in Ariane Carnelossi in a strawweight bout at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas on Nov. 1, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Alencar is coming off a loss in her most recent bout. She fell to Cassia Moura back in June via unanimous decision, dropping her UFC record to 2-1. Her opponent, meanwhile, is coming off a win, but it was due to disqualification. Alencar will look for her third win in the promotion, facing a fighter with an inch of height and three inches of reach on her.

Leans on wrestling in victory
Alencar defeated Vanessa Demopoulos via unanimous decision (30-26, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Recognizing her massive edge in the grappling department, Alencar fired off five takedown attempts, landing four of them. Those four successful tries turned into a whopping 12:38 worth of control time and a 107-34 edge in total strikes landed. It certainly would have been nice to see Alencar land a bit more damage from top position, but it was a dominant performance nonetheless. The 34-year-old Brazilian has alternated wins and losses in her first three UFC bouts.

Next bout scheduled
Alencar will take on Vanessa Demopoulos in a strawweight bout at UFC Vegas 105 on April 5th, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Alencar will look to right the ship after falling to Stephanie Luciano via unanimous decision back in August. Now holding a 1-1 UFC record, she'll look to take down a more experienced fighter in Demopoulos, who is also coming off a loss in her last bout.

Falls in Vegas opener
Alencar lost to Stephanie Luciano via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Entering as a small +130 underdog, Alencar was routed in her second UFC appearance. Giving up six inches in height to Luciano, Talita was unable to get in tight with any sort of consistency. She was picked apart on the feet and managed to land just 1-of-10 takedown attempts. Set to turn 34 years of age this coming October and with all of seven professional fights under her belt, Alencar is a massive long shot to have any sustained success with the company.
