Sweeps scorecards in UFC debut
Collins defeated Otari Tanzilovi via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
A former champion in Urijah Faber's A1 Combat organization, Collins looked quite good in his company debut here. He did allow five takedowns to Tanzilovi, in addition to failing on all six of his shots, but Collins was the much better conditioned athlete. That allowed him to outwork his opponent on the feet, in addition to landing the much more damaging blows. It was a strong performance. Still just 26 years of age with all of eight pro fights under his belt, Collins is a fighter worth watching moving forward at 145 pounds.
