Can't defend takedown in loss
Ochoa lost to Asu Almabayev via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
ANALYSIS
Stepping in for Ramazan Temirov (undisclosed) on short notice, Ochoa simply couldn't defend the takedown well enough to get to his perceived edge in the striking game. He gave up seven takedowns on 16 attempts, good for 9:26 worth of control time. Ochoa was fine in the rare instances in which he was able to fight Almabayev at distance, but you simply aren't going to win a decision when you spend that much time being controlled on your back. Set to turn 25 years old on New Year's Eve, Ochoa has alternated losses and wins in his first three UFC bouts.

Almabayev scheduled next
Ochoa is scheduled to compete against Asu Almabayev in a flyweight fight at UFC Abu Dhabi on July 26, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Less than a month after knocking out Cody Durden, Ochoa is taking a short-notice fight, replacing Ramazan Temirov (undisclosed) to take on Almabayev. The recent victor has under three weeks to prepare for Almabayev, coming off a main-event loss to Manel Kape.

Shines in securing first UFC win
Ochoa defeated Cody Durden via KO (punches) at 0:11 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Ochoa dropped his UFC debut to a legitimate prospect in Lone'er Kavanagh in November but looked pretty good in the process. He found himself a -220 favorite over Durden and put forth an excellent effort in enemy territory. He did give up a pair of Round 1 takedowns, but he dominated the striking exchanges between the two. He got right back on the offense to start the second frame, crushing Durden with an uppercut before putting him away just 11 seconds into Round 2. It would go on to earn him a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus. Still just 24 years of age, Ochoa is a quality young addition to the flyweight division.

Taking on Durden in June
Ochoa will fight Cody Durden at UFC Atlanta on June 14, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Ochoa will head into the fight looking for a bounce back following a decision loss to Lone'er Kavanagh in his UFC debut. The 24-year-old Peruvian fighter will look to use his youth and explosiveness to take down the more experienced American. Ochoa will likely be looking to use his stopping power to take out Durden, though Durden's 6-1 professional record in KO/TKO finishes is certainly nothing to scoff at.

Hangs tough in debut loss
Ochoa lost to Lone'er Kavanagh via unanimous decision (27-30, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Macau, China.
ANALYSIS
Facing a highly-regarded prospect and entering as a +275 underdog, Ochoa more than held his own in a fight which couldn't have been more even judging by the numbers. Kavanagh closed with a 51-50 edge in significant strikes landed and neither man landed a takedown. It felt like the correct decision simply because it felt like Kavanagh landed some of the bigger shots, but Ochoa showed plenty in his company debut. We'll see him in the octagon once again.
