Taking on Schultz
McVey will face Wes Schultz at UFC Vegas 121 on August 22, Marcel Dorff of Heavy on Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
The start to McVey's UFC career wasn't ideal, as he was submitted in his first two fights. The middleweight soon turned the tables in April, submitting Sedriques Dumas to secure his first UFC win. Both fighters are looking to earn a statement win and continue to fight in the promotion.

Earns first UFC victory in style
McVey defeated Sedriques Dumas via submission (Brabo Choke) at 2:14 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
McVey was submitted in each of his first two UFC appearances and was almost certainly fighting for his job here. The company gave him a softer matchup against Dumas, and to his credit, he took full advantage. McVey starched his opponent with an uppercut along the fence before following Dumas to the mat and clamping on the choke which forced referee Chris Tognoni to step in. It was a thing of beauty, and it would also lead to McVey walking away with a $100,000 Performance of the Night bonus.

Fighting Dumas in Vegas
McVey will face Sedriques Dumas at a UFC event in Las Vegas on April 25, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
McVey will head into the bout looking for his first UFC win following a pair of losses to begin his career with the promotion. The 26-year-old American will give up a disadvantage in reach but will own a height advantage compared to the older Floridian fighter. With a perfect 3-0 professional record in KO/TKO finishes, McVey will be looking to use his stopping power to end this one early.

Still searching for first UFC win
McVey lost to Zachary Reese via submission (rear-naked choke) at 1:38 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It's a low bar, but McVey looked considerably better here than in his first-round submission defeat to Brunno Ferreira in his company debut this past July. He controlled Reese for a good portion of Round 1 by staying aggressive and dominating from the clinch position. Yet, once Reese went to his grappling late in the opening frame, McVey was done. He can't defend a takedown and seemingly has zero awareness in terms of submission defense. Should McVey get another shot with the company, which is far from guaranteed, he'll be fighting for his job his next time out.

Gets new opponent
McVey will now take on Zachary Reese in a middleweight bout at UFC Vegas 111 on Nov. 8, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
McVey was initially scheduled to face Robert Valentin, but the latter has pulled out for currently undisclosed reasons. Now, he'll get a new opponent on extremely short notice. Reese is 3-2 in the UFC and is coming off a no contest caused by an accidental foul in his last bout against Sedriques Dumas.
