ANALYSIS
Ellison lasted only 1:55 in his UFC debut against Brando Pericic last September, so he's trending in the right direction. In all seriousness, this wasn't a terrible performance considering the odds stacked against him. Ellison landed a few big strikes of his own and was able to stuff Steveson's only takedown attempt. Predictably, he gassed out quickly and that's when the damage started to pile up. Most fighters that begin their UFC runs with back-to-back first-round knockout defeats would be handled their walking papers without notice, but it would be shocking if the company didn't give Ellison another fight considering he was willing to go in there against Gable.
