Competing for the first time since December 2024 and for the final time in his storied career, Swanson never looked better. He dominated Landwehr from bell to bell, landing seemingly everything he threw. It was a mercy stoppage from Herb Dean late in Round 2 and a brilliant performance from the 42-year-old. A member of the UFC roster since November 2011 and a professional since July 2024, Cub closes his run with the company with a 16-10 mark in 26 fights. Included in there are victories over the likes of Dustin Poirier and Charles Oliveira. Swanson is one of the rare guys you never hear anyone say a bad word about. He recently opened his own gym and should continue to train fighters in retirement.

The rumor prior to the bout was that Cub would be retiring after it's completion. He walked that back a bit in his post-fight interview, saying it was definitely possible he was done but that he would talk to his family first. Swanson definitely has some gas left in the tank if he wants to take another fight or two. On top of that, he'll walk away with a $50,000 bonus after this matchup was awarded Fight of the Night honors.
