Takes debut over heavy opponent
Haddon defeated Dan Argueta via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Haddon dominated Billy Brand via first-round submission on Dana White's Contender Series on August 20 and found himself making his official Octagon debut here less than two months later. To make things even more difficult, he was going up against an opponent in Argueta who missed weight by 2.5 pounds Friday morning. Haddon looked great on the feet, dominating virtually all the striking exchanges between the two. His grappling held up to the extent that he didn't allow Argueta to overwhelm him when he ended up on the mat. All in all, it was a strong showing for Haddon when you take into account how recently he just fought combined with the weight miss of his opponent.

Facing heavy opponent
Haddon will still face Dan Argueta at UFC Fight Night on Oct. 12, even though the later missed the bantamweight limit at weigh-ins, Jed I. Goodman reports.
ANALYSIS
Haddon will accept the 20 percent of his purse that Argueta had to forfeit for missing weight, and the fight will continue as scheduled. This is slated to be Haddon's UFC debut, and he'll do it against a heavy fighter in Argueta who will be hungry for a victory as a loser of his last two bouts.

Debuting in October
Haddon will fight Dan Argueta at UFC Las Vegas on Oct. 12, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Haddon's UFC debut comes two months after earning an official UFC contract. The soon-to-be 26-year-old will face off against the 31-year-old Argueta, who's lost back-to-back fights.

Earns one of four contracts
Haddon defeated Billy Brand via submission (rear-naked choke) at 3:09 of Round 1 at Dana White's Contender Series on Tuesday. After the show, he was one of four fighters to earn an official UFC contract.
ANALYSIS
Haddon showed a solid all-around skill set in as long as this bout lasted, as he was able to survive getting his back taken briefly and scramble back to the feet. From there, it was his striking that led to the fight-ending sequence, as a big left hand sent Brand to the canvas. After a few follow-up punches didn't do the job, Haddon quickly took his opponent's back and ended the proceedings. Haddon only absorbed nine significant strikes through this entire affair, so the 25-year-old bantamweight prospect could conceivably make his debut in short order.
