Macklin Celebrini

18-Year-Old CenterC
2024 Fantasy Outlook
The silver lining for the Sharks' horrid 2023-24 campaign is that they were able to select Celebrini with the No. 1 overall pick. Although not quite touted as a generational talent like Connor Bedard, Celebrini is still expected to develop into an elite forward. With the Sharks focused on rebuilding, it would not be surprising to see Celebrini start the 2024-25 campaign on their first line and top power-play unit, potentially sharing the ice with Logan Couture in all situations, provided the veteran forward has fully recovered from his groin injury. Celebrini, who had 32 goals and 64 points across 38 contests with Boston University last season, is expected to be one of the main contenders for the Calder Trophy, and it would not be shocking to see him reach the 60-point mark as a rookie. Two goals in loss
CSan Jose Sharks
November 8, 2024
Celebrini scored twice on seven shots in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Wild.
ANALYSIS
Celebrini, the youngest player in the NHL this season, scored twice on Marc-Andre Fleury, who is the oldest player to suit up in 2024-25. This was Celebrini's second multi-point effort following his goal and assist Opening Night versus the Blues. The 18-year-old has been as advertised when healthy, adding 12 shots on net and a plus-1 rating while filling a top-line role. There may be some growing pains over the course of the campaign, but Celebrini is showing his talent and will be given every opportunity to thrive despite playing on a rebuilding team.

Injury might not be serious
CSan Jose Sharks
October 2, 2024
Celebrini's lower-body injury isn't believed to be serious, according to Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Celebrini was hurt during Tuesday's preseason game against Utah. Although the 18-year-old forward might not be out for too long, there isn't a timetable for his return to practice yet, which leaves his availability for Opening Night against St. Louis on Thursday in question. When Celebrini is healthy, he'll likely start his NHL career by serving on San Jose's top six and first power-play unit.
