2024 Fantasy Outlook
The Jaguars keep talking about how they want to limit Travis Etienne's workload, and last year the front office backed it up by using a third-round pick on Bigsby, who then scored two goal-line TDs within the first three weeks but didn't have much luck gaining yards otherwise. A pair of lost fumbles in the first half of the season didn't help the rookie's cause, and he ultimately had just three games all year with more than three carries. Bigsby averaged 2.6 YPC on his 50 carries -- even worse than Etienne's 3.8 average behind a struggling offensive line -- and caught one pass for four yards on six targets. The Jaguars are again openly discussing their desire to limit wear and tear on Etienne, but Bigsby's poor rookie season means he'll likely have to compete for backup roles with D'Ernest Johnson and fifth-round pick Keilan Robinson. Bigsby (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game at Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Bigsby injured his ankle during this past Sunday's loss to the Vikings. After Bigsby sat out practice Wednesday and Thursday, coach Doug Pederson told Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union that the running back was slated to get back on the field Friday, but that didn't come to pass. As a result, Bigsby won't be available Week 11, leaving the Jaguars backfield to Travis Etienne and D'Ernest Johnson (hamstring).

2023 Fantasy Outlook
A third-round pick in this year's draft, Bigsby is an upright runner with a poor anchor at 6-0, 210, but he perhaps can offset that concern with above-average burst (4.56 40, 1.54 10-yard split) and creativity as a runner. He was a good but not great starter at Auburn the last three years, totaling 2,903 yards and 25 touchdowns on 540 carries (5.4 YPC) in 35 games. Bigsby's unremarkable production indicates average skill as a runner, and his combine testing confirmed he is only an average athlete, so for him to emerge as a fantasy standout likely will require favorable circumstances. On the other hand, Travis Etienne can only take so much work and the incumbent Jacksonville backups aren't special, so Bigsby doesn't need to do much to emerge as the No. 2. Free-agent acquisition D'Ernest Johnson is the main obstacle, and he got less than $1 million guaranteed on a one-year contract.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could get lead role Week 7
RBJacksonville Jaguars
October 13, 2024
Bigsby could be the top running back for the Jaguars in Week 7 against the Patriots, as Travis Etienne exited Sunday's game against the Bears due to a hamstring injury.
ANALYSIS
Bigsby has rushed for 215 yards and two touchdowns over the past three games, though only 24 of those yards came in Sunday's 35-16 loss to Chicago. The Jaguars could finally spend an extended period playing from ahead in Week 7 against a Patriots team that's also 1-5, and if Etienne sits out due to his hamstring injury, Bigsby would likely get the majority of carries over D'Ernest Johnson in Jacksonville's backfield.
