2025 Fantasy Outlook
As is commonly the case in the Philadelphia defense, Dean had to pay his dues before finding himself on the field consistently. He logged a career-high 815 defensive snaps in 15 games in 2024 while also displaying elite traits as a run stopper. Per PFF, he logged a 13 percent run-stuff rate, second in the league among linebackers with at least 150 defensive snaps. That translated to nine tackles for loss and 128 total tackles. Two looming concerns prevent projecting a full breakout for Dean. First is that he is recovering from a torn patellar tendon that happened late in the 2024 campaign. He is likely to be ready for the start of the season, but Philadelphia will manage him carefully. Perhaps relatedly, the Eagles selected Jihaad Campbell with the 32nd pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Campbell could emerge to force Dean back into a modified rotational role. Read Past Outlooks
Logs career-high sack total in 2025
Dean tallied 55 tackles (including 4.0 sacks), one defensed pass and two forced fumbles over 10 regular-season games (eight starts) during the 2025 campaign.
ANALYSIS
Dean missed the first five games of the season while recovering from a knee injury and then sat out Weeks 17 and 18 because of a hamstring issue. While that led to his overall tackle total being less than half of what it was (128) in 2024, Dean did manage to reach a career-best mark with his 4.0 sacks. He just completed the final year of his rookie deal, so Dean is slated to be a free agent.

2022
After mostly being limited to special teams as a rookie in 2022, Dean got the chance to start in his second season. Unfortunately, it didn't last long, as he suffered a foot injury Week 1 and missed the next four games. He returned to play Week 6 before suffering another foot issue and missing the remainder of the campaign. He was a full participant in OTAs, and if his good health continues, he should be one of the Eagles' top inside linebackers in 2024.

Could follow coach to Dallas
Dean might be a top target of the Cowboys in free agency, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Dallas has a lot of work to do to fix one of the league's worst defenses in 2025, and signing Dean would be a good start to the process. New defensive coordinator Christian Parker is very familiar with Dean from their time together in Philadelphia, and the 25-year-old linebacker may not be too pricey due to his injury history, as he's missed 21 regular-season games over the last three seasons.
