Mike Washington

22-Year-Old Running BackRB
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Washington is one of the most notable size-speed specimens to ever step into the NFL, as the 6-foot-1, 223-pound runner logged a 4.33-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. The issue is that it's not obvious whether he has much else going for him as a running back prospect. Washington most recently played for Arkansas in 2025, but before that he spent one year at New Mexico State and three years at Buffalo. In those first four years Washington averaged only 4.39 yards per carry -- plainly below NFL-caliber production, especially for the level of competition -- and by the end of his Buffalo career he had been benched for non-prospect Ron Cook. He was also outplayed at New Mexico State by seventh-round pick rookie Seth McGowan. Outrageously fast and strong as he might be, Washington's poor production implies some number of hitches, be it related to movement or processing, or both. Dubious as Washington's rushing production was in college, his pass-catching production was much worse, catching just 73 receptions for 470 yards and three touchdowns on 117 targets (62.3-percent catch rate, 4.0 YPT). Throw in Washington's fumbling issues (11 in the last two years) and it sure seems like Washington needs a lot of polish before he'll be a viable NFL back. Undrafted fellow rookie Roman Hemby was the better player in college and might be more polished in the meantime, if only for the short term. Read Past Outlooks

RBLas Vegas Raiders
April 25, 2026
The Raiders selected Washington in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 122nd overall.
ANALYSIS
Washington saw limited opportunities at Buffalo and New Mexico State, but he burst onto the scene during his fifth and final year in college at Arkansas. He was named to the All-SEC Second-Team in 2025 after turning 167 carries into 1,070 yards (6.40 YPC) and eight touchdowns while adding 28 catches for 226 yards and a score across 12 games. Washington is a big back with a 6-foot-1, 223-pound frame that he used to full effect as a punishing, downhill runner, which should lead to a fair amount of touches on early downs. Ashton Jeanty is still the lead back for the Raiders, but Washington seemingly brings the thunder to the team's backfield that complements the lightning of Jeanty.

Inside track to No. 2 job?
RBLas Vegas Raiders
May 13, 2026
Washington, whom the Raiders selected out of Arkansas in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, has a strong chance of opening the season as the clear No. 2 back, Ryan McFadden of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
In breaking down the potential impact of some of the members of the Raiders' rookie class, McFadden is high on Washington's upside and opportunity. With no other significant offseason additions to the team's running back room and new head coach Klint Kubiak intent on deploying a true two-back system, Washington is in "prime position" to take over the No. 2 role, following his 4.33 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine and 1,070-yard, eight-touchdown rushing tally with the Razorbacks in his final college season.
