The Seahawks tendered Holani to a one-year, league-minimum contract Monday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Holani was an exclusive rights free agent, and by being tendered, he will not be able to negotiate with another team during the offseason. He appeared in 11 regular-season games for the Seahawks in 2025, serving mostly on special teams as a gunner to go with 387 yards on 16 kickoff attempts. He also saw some backfield snaps on offense and finished with 22 carries for 73 yards and one touchdown while catching two passes (on as many targets) for 15 yards. Holani's role next season will depend on Zach Charbonnet's progression in his recovery from a torn ACL, as well as whether unrestricted free agent Kenneth Walker opts to return to Seattle.

Holani put together a strong training camp and preseason to secure the No. 3 running back job behind Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet. As long as the top two backs are upright, there won't be many reps available for Holani, but he should contribute as a kick returner in the meantime.
Holani was impactful from the jump at Boise State, posting 1,220 yards and 10 total touchdowns through 14 games, but COVID hampered his next two seasons. He remained productive but ended up going undrafted this spring. Holani has impressed the coaching staff through training camp and preseason and is battling Kenny McIntosh for the No. 3 spot behind Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet. That's not a lucrative role, however, as Walker and Charbonnet figure to share nearly the entire backfield burden as long as they're healthy.

Holani is in line to potentially serve as the Seahawks' No. 2 running back behind Kenneth Walker in Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the Rams, given Zach Charbonnet suffered a torn ACL in the divisional-round win over the 49ers last Saturday night. Holani logged a career-high 22 carries and 73 rushing yards during 11 regular-season appearances while also recording his first NFL touchdown. The Boise State product won't be the only candidate for complementary snaps behind Walker, however, as both Velus Jones and Cam Akers were promoted from the practice squad Saturday.
