2025 Fantasy Outlook
Trautman probably has more real-life value to the Broncos than he does fantasy value, especially after Denver added Evan Engram in the offseason. A favorite of coach Sean Payton from their days together in New Orleans, Trautman’s a reliable blocker who was on the field for more than half of Denver’s offensive snaps last season, and the 28-year-old TE’s 188 receiving yards were enough to lead all Broncos tight ends in 2024. Trautman should still see the field a fair amount due to his blocking ability, but he hasn’t had more than 263 yards or three TDs in a season, so Trautman’s upside is limited even if Engram struggles to stay healthy again after having a torn labrum surgically repaired in December. Targeted twice against Kansas City
Trautman caught both of his targets for 24 yards in Thursday's 20-13 win over the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
Trautman played 52 of the Broncos' 72 offensive snaps Thursday, once again playing the most snaps at tight end. Teammates Evan Engram and Marcedes Lewis played 22 and 15 snaps, respectively. Engram paced the position group in targets (4) as Denver's preferred pass-catching tight end. Meanwhile the 28-year-old Trautman continued to operate as a blocking specialist. The veteran's limited opportunities keep him far off the fantasy radar each week. Next up for the Broncos is a Week 18 matchup against the Chargers.

Trautman followed head coach Sean Payton from New Orleans to Denver, and after starting 12 games with the Saints in 2022, the 6-foot-5 tight end made 12 starts for the Broncos in 2023. Most of Trautman’s value comes from his blocking ability, as his three touchdowns last season marked a career high and the highest yardage total of his four-year career is a modest 263 from 2021. Oft-injured 2022 third-round draft pick Greg Dulcich has a far higher ceiling than Trautman as a pass catcher, and unheralded third-stringer Lukas Krull flashed some promise down the stretch in 2023, but Trautman’s probably the favorite to lead all of Denver’s tight ends in snaps once again. His track record suggests that playing time won’t lead to meaningful production, though.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Top TE due to Engram absence
With Evan Engram ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chargers, Trautman will serve as the Broncos' top tight end while Nate Adkins and Lucas Krull serve in rotational roles.
ANALYSIS
Trautman out-snapped Engram during the Broncos' Week 2 loss to the Colts, likely due to the latter working through a back injury that will force him to miss Sunday's AFC West clash. Trautman caught three passes for 10 yards and a touchdown in Denver's Week 2 loss, and he should see another bump in his snap count in Engram's absence. Trautman and the Broncos are facing a Chargers defense that yielded seven catches on 10 targets for 47 yards between tight ends Brock Bowers and Michael Mayer in a Week 2 win over the Raiders.
