Handicapping the NBA: Wednesday Picks

This article is part of our NBA Picks series.

Alex Barutha: Suns (-155) over the Pelicans -- (DraftKings Sportsbook, 2:34 PM CT)

The Suns will have Devin Booker available for a second straight game after he missed four contests due to a hamstring injury. He played 31 minutes Monday so I'm not worried about his condition at all. When the Suns are fully healthy, there's no reason they should lose to the Pelicans, who are 3-10 over their past 13 games.

Joe Bartel: Daniel Gafford over 10.5 P+R+A (-110) - (DraftKings Sportsbook, 11:19 AM CT)

These back-to-back games always trick me, but I really don't see a way in which Gafford misses this mark, especially after putting together 12 points and nine rebounds literally last time out against the Knicks. Yes, Thad Young will continue to soak up most of the minutes left behind following Wendell Carter's injury (quadriceps), but this number is such a low bar to climb even if Gafford plays 20-some minutes.

Jeff Edgerton: Keldon Johnson OVER 14.5 POINTS vs. MIN (MGM Sportsbook, 8:00 a.m. ET)

With LaMarcus Aldridge out, I think Johnson will tack another massive line to his impressive resume. The superb playmaker is doing damage on a nightly basis, and I think he'll be a major beneficiary of this absence.

Josh Richardson OVER 13.5 POINTS @ ATL (MGM Sportsbook, 8:00 a.m. ET)

Richardson went off for 24 points in his last game, and he's beginning to feel it after the long absence.  The total of this game is extremely favorable, and he has an excellent chance to beat this number alongside Luke Doncic in the backcourt.
