FanDuel NBA: Tuesday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Tuesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

Tuesday's slate consists of a six-game schedule and as always, an abundance of quality talent when searching in the right places. Not a single one of the 12 teams in action are on the back end of a back-to-back and the first games of the evening begin at 7:00 PM Eastern time.

There are a few key matchups to take advantage of on this slate, with a weak Suns defense on the road against Indiana, and the Hawks, ranked 25th in defensive efficiency, at home against the Thunder. It'll also be worth keeping an eye on Minnesota at Philadelphia, given Jimmy Butler's notable history with the Timberwolves. As always, choose your nine-player lineup wisely, and best of luck to you in your DFS endeavors.

Point Guard

Jeff Teague, MIN at PHI ($6,400): There may be some concern about Teague's health after he tweaked his ankle in Saturday's contest, but he was a full participant in practice Monday and will be ready to go in Philadelphia. He was limited to 17.2 FanDuel points his last time out due to the ankle injury, although he averaged 36.2 points per contest over the previous four games. Teague scores just under 12 points per game and manages to rack up big fantasy performances by posting effective all-around final lines, which is especially useful for when he struggles with his shot.

Trae Young, ATL vs. OKC ($6,900): Young is coming off a double-double against Milwaukee, with Sunday marking the first time he's recorded 10 rebounds in his brief NBA career. Although Young's shot from beyond the arc has been an obvious concern this year, he's knocked down 50.0 percent of his threes during his preceding five home games, which is where the Hawks will face off against the Thunder on Tuesday night. Aside from his success rate from deep, Young has been valuable in a number of categories, averaging 17.0 points along with 6.8 assists, 3.9 boards and 1.5 steals over his last 10 contests.

Shooting Guard

Jimmy Butler, PHI vs. MIN ($8,200): With the Timberwolves coming into Philadelphia, Butler figures to be primed for a big performance. Given his past antics, it's no mystery that the Marquette product badly wanted out of Minnesota, so he'll be chomping at the bit to demoralize his former organization. Although the Timberwolves rank near the middle of the pack in defensive efficiency, it's worth noting that they're also giving up 51.9 FanDuel points per game to opposing small forwards over the last 10 games.

Victor Oladipo, IND vs. PHO ($8,300): Oladipo has been a steady fantasy contributor since returning from injury in mid-December, although he'll be an especially enticing play Tuesday night against a Phoenix team ranked near the bottom of the league in defensive efficiency. The former Indiana Hoosier has turned in balanced efforts of late, averaging 21.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.7 steals in his previous six contests. While Oladipo is one of the more expensive options at shooting guard for Tuesday's slate, there's a good chance he'll give you more than enough bang for your buck.

Malcolm Brogdon, MIL vs. MIA ($6,200): Brogdon has flown under the radar at times throughout the 2018-19 season, but he's been a solid all-around contributor on a nightly basis for the Bucks. He's currently the only player in the NBA who would be named to the coveted 50-40-90 club if the season ended today. The Virginia product rarely has an off night, scoring under 10 points in just four of 39 games this year. Brogdon does much more than score, however, as he's also averaging 4.6 boards and 3.5 assists per contest on the year. Despite going up against one of the most effective defenses in the league Tuesday night, Milwaukee's high-powered offense figures to be fired up, especially after being held to a mere eight points in the first quarter the last time these two teams faced off.

Small Forward

TJ Warren, PHO at IND ($6,000): Warren has been useful from a fantasy perspective of late and has shown that he doesn't need to produce huge scoring nights to be an effective choice. He scored nine points in Saturday's matchup with Denver, but still managed to come away with 27.3 FanDuel points by registering four rebounds, three assists, a block and a pair of steals. With Devin Booker (back) likely to be held to a minute restriction Tuesday night, there'll likely be an opportunity for Warren to step up for his team against a highly-rated Pacer defense.

Bojan Bogdanovic, IND vs. PHO ($5,200): Bogdanovic is another one of those guys who relies on his all-around play to produce serviceable fantasy numbers, although he certainly possesses some scoring upside (16.2 ppg). He's totaled 20 or more FanDuel points in 10 of his previous 11 matchups, which makes Bogdanovic a steal at only $5,200 for the night, especially when considering his opponent. The Suns are ranked 28th in the NBA in defensive efficiency and are allowing on average 44.1 FanDuel points per contest to opposing small forwards this year.

Power Forward

Lauri Markkanen, CHI at LAL ($6,400): Markkanen will aim to take advantage of a Laker team that's been struggling without the assistance of Lebron James (groin). Markkanen has been impressive across the board of late, averaging 15.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 1.0 steal over his previous seven matchups. Los Angeles has struggled to defend the power forward position this season, allowing an average of 42.3 FanDuel points per game.

Josh Jackson, PHO at IND ($5,400): Jackson has stepped into the starting lineup over the last three games while filling in for Devin Booker, who's set to return Tuesday. However, the Suns figure to limit Booker's minutes to prevent further injury, likely allowing for Jackson to have plenty of opportunities to make plays even in a bench role. In the three games prior to joining the first unit, Jackson averaged 16.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 25.7 minutes per contest.

Center

Steven Adams, OKC at ATL ($7,300): Adams' play has been rock solid of late, averaging 13.6 points, 10.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.6 steals and 0.9 blocks over his previous seven games. He's notched three double-doubles over that stretch and has swatted six shots while also adding valuable contributions on the boards. Adams is set to face a favorable matchup Tuesday in Atlanta, a defense that's rated near the middle of the pack in FanDuel points allowed to the center position this season (39.8) and is 25th in the league in defensive efficiency (1.084).
