Sam Antonacci

Sam Antonacci

23-Year-Old Second Baseman2B
Chicago White Sox
2026 Fantasy Outlook
After excellent runs at Double-A and in the Arizona Fall League, Antonacci looks like a future big leaguer, but he'll face stiff competition for playing time in the majors in 2026. Antonacci was selected by the White Sox in the fifth round in 2024 and received a $572,500 bonus out of Coastal Carolina. Despite the fact Antonacci has hit five home runs in 139 career games, he has been at least 50 percent better than the average hitter in every league he has played in, thanks to superb swing decisions and bat-to-ball ability. He had a 5.2 percent swinging-strike rate last year as an age-appropriate hitter at Double-A and his contact rates have always been elite. He predictably excelled in the hitter-friendly AFL, slashing .378/.505/.541 with three home runs, 11 steals and more walks (15) than strikeouts (11) in 19 games. Antonacci had 48 steals in 116 games last year, although his prolific base stealing is more the product of good reads and a lot of opportunities rather than plus speed. He figures to spend most of 2026 at Triple-A, with a big-league debut not out of the question. Read Past Outlooks

Antonacci went 3-for-4 with a stolen base Tuesday against the Red Sox.
Analysis
Antonacci continues to hit well overall, but he entered Tuesday's game hitless in his last three games and 12 at-bats. He snapped that very brief slump with a three-single performance, and he also tallied his 12th stolen base of the season and first since June 22. Antonacci has had a very impressive rookie season, maintaining a 130 wRC+ across his first 287 plate appearances while racking up 46 runs scored in 71 contests.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Set to earn promotion?
2BChicago White Sox
April 13, 2026
Antonacci could get promoted to the White Sox's big-league roster in the near future, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.
Analysis
The White Sox traded Lenyn Sosa to the Blue Jays on Monday, and they needed depth in the infield. A promotion for Antonacci makes too much sense, especially since Chase Meidroth and Munetaka Murakami are playing almost every day on the right side of the infield. Antonacci is out to a quick start to the season with Triple-A Charlotte and could be rewarded with a move to the big-league roster in the near future.
