Rest-of-Season Projections
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Albies could at least partly blame his disappointing 2024 season on injury. He didn't have that excuse in 2025, however, and he was even worse, finishing with just a .671 OPS and wRC+ of 87. After reaching the 30-homer mark in each of his previous two full seasons, the 29-year-old hit only 16 long balls across 667 plate appearances before his year ended with a fractured hamate bone during the final week of the season. Albies' batted-ball data has always been underwhelming, but his hard-hit rate (30.7 percent), barrel rate (4.9 percent) and average exit velocity (87.5 mph) in 2025 were all easily his lowest over the past three campaigns. He'll be recovered from hamate surgery well ahead of Opening Day, and Albies should be too young to be entering a decline phase of his career. That would seem to point to a bounce-back year in 2026, but it's hard to believe that with conviction for a guy who has disappointed in three of the last four seasons. Read Past Outlooks
Pops 14th homer
Albies went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's win over the Mets.
Analysis
The second baseman took Christian Scott deep in the third inning, one of four Atlanta homers on the night. Albies is up to 14 homers on the season in just 86 games, two shy of what he produced over 157 contests in 2025, and his .767 OPS would be his best mark since 2023.

Albies was limited to 99 games in 2024 as he spent significant time on the injured list due to a fractured wrist and fractured toe, and it's the second time in the past three seasons he's failed to reach 100 games played. The three-time All-Star underwhelmed at the plate when available and had a .251/.303/.404 slash line with 10 home runs, eight steals, 51 RBI and 50 runs scored, with a 95 wRC+ being the second worst of his career. Albies has been an elite producer when healthy overall, but whether he's able to stay on the field over the past few years has basically been a coin flip. His ceiling is as high as any second baseman in the league -- especially given the rest of Atlanta's offense and the potential for counting stats -- but that ceiling comes with plenty of risk given the up-and-down availability and recent performance.
