2026 Fantasy Outlook
Caissie was traded from the Cubs to the Marlins as the headliner for Edward Cabrera this offseason. It is a good transaction for Caissie's short-term fantasy value, as he goes from an uncertain role to start the year in Chicago to a likely strong-side platoon role in Miami on Opening Day. Caissie, a muscular lefty slugger from Ontario, slashed .286/.386/.551 with 22 home runs, five steals, a 13.2 percent walk rate and a 27.9 percent strikeout rate in 99 games at Triple-A. He was one of the most productive hitters at Triple-A in 2025, and he's either the youngest of the 10 best hitters at the level or second-youngest behind Samuel Basallo, depending on the plate appearance cut off. Caissie hit .192 with one home run and an 11:1 K:BB in 27 plate appearances in the majors, all of which came against right-handed pitchers. His 2026 fantasy upside is capped somewhat by the fact he'll likely sit against lefties and doesn't run much (five steals in all of 2025), but Caissie could be a productive slugger against righties if he wins the job. Taking seat against Skubal
Caissie is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers.
Analysis
Caissie had started the Marlins' last four games, but he'll take a seat against Tarik Skubal. He'll be joined on the bench by fellow left-handed hitters Graham Pauley and Liam Hicks.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2025
2024
One reason the Cubs were aggressively shopping Cody Bellinger this winter is that they believe Caissie is ready to see time in right field at the big-league level. Caissie's batting average figures to be his weakest fantasy stat, but he has the raw power to hit 30 homers in a season and the speed to steal 15 bases. He also has the patience to log solid on-base percentages if it all comes together. His exit velocity data from the past two years is more impressive than the 41 home runs he hit in 247 games. Caissie made contact at a 66.9 percent clip and struck out at a 28.4 percent clip at Triple-A, and the whiffs are part of the package. A left-handed hitter, Caissie could sit against southpaws initially in an effort to get him off on the right foot. Now that he's on the 40-man roster, Caissie could have a chance of winning a roster spot out of spring training, especially if the Cubs are able to move Bellinger.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Appears destined for Miami
The Marlins will acquire Caissie from the Cubs as part of the trade sending Edward Cabrera to Chicago, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.
Analysis
Caissie hit just .192 with a .568 OPS in 12 regular-season games in his first taste of big-league action in 2025, but the top prospect boasts a .281/.380/.507 batting line over the last two seasons at Triple-A Iowa. Assuming the trade is finalized, the 23-year-old Caissie should take over as the Marlins' regular right fielder in 2026.
