Kameron Misner

28-Year-Old OutfielderOF
Kansas City Royals
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Misner will try to revive his career with the Royals after a lackluster 2025 campaign that ended with him being traded from Tampa Bay. The outfielder, who turns 28 in January, slashed .213/.273/.345 with a 31.8 percent strikeout rate across 217 big-league plate appearances in 2025, and he also slashed .210/.333.442 at Triple-A. Misner has an intriguing fantasy profile due to his blend of power and speed, but his contact issues have been a roadblock to any success. Read Past Outlooks

Taking seat Wednesday
OFKansas City Royals
June 17, 2026
Misner is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.
Analysis
Since being called up from Triple-A Omaha a week ago, Misner has drawn starts in five of the Royals' ensuing eight games, going 6-for-16 with a walk, a stolen base and three RBI. Though he'll head to the bench Wednesday, the Royals should be able to make regular room in the outfield for both Misner and Lane Thomas while Kyle Isbel (foot) and Vinnie Pasquantino (hand) are on the injured list.

Past Fantasy Outlooks

2020
Misner came to the Tampa Bay organization in the Joey Wendle trade and has shown plenty of athleticism in each of the three seasons in the organization. He has hit at least 15 homers and stolen at least 20 bases in each of the previous three minor-league seasons but a late-season promotion led to 10 strikeouts in 15 plate appearances around a lonely single. The strikeouts should not have been a surprise, as Misner has swung and missed plenty in the minors including a Siri-like 35.8 percent strikeout rate in 2023 and a 29.3 percent rate this past season as he repeated Triple-A baseball. Around those strikeouts have also been plenty of walks, which has helped him get on base enough to steal 83 bases in 96 attempts as a member of the organization. The athleticism is fun, but the 27-year-old has to make better contact if there is to be any future for him at the big league level.
Misner did not get the invite to the Marlins' alternate training site last summer, but he still worked on honing the consistency of his left-handed swing, particularly syncing up his lower-half. At 6-foot-4, 220 pounds, Misner has a rare combination of size and athleticism, as those most bullish on him see a chance that he could go 30/30. That's probably a little too optimistic, but 30/20 could be doable if he logs high on-base percentages and plays every day, which is still a ways off from being a reality. Misner did participate in the fall instructional league, where he showcased a refined approach. He is clearly behind JJ Bleday in Miami's outfield prospect hierarchy, so Misner will be competing with players like Peyton Burdick, Jesus Sanchez and Monte Harrison for opportunities in the coming years. He should spend a good chunk of his age-23 season at Double-A.
One of the most physically impressive hitters in the 2019 draft class, Misner struggled in his final year at Missouri (.222 AVG, 39 strikeouts in 30 SEC games) but erased any significant concerns with a very impressive pro debut. A burly 6-foot-4, 220-pound slugger with 70-grade raw power, Misner is currently a plus runner who can handle center field, but the expectation is he will slow down and eventually end up in right field, where he could be a plus defender. While other toolsy college hitters with hit tool concerns (Hunter Bishop, Greg Jones) didn't make it past short-season ball, Misner spent the bulk of his debut season at Low-A and more than held his own (125 wRC+, 13.3 BB%, 22.2 K%). In addition to making contact at a surprisingly solid clip, his 38.4 GB% portends more game power in his first full season. Misner should be valued as a borderline top-15 dynasty asset from his class.
