2026 Fantasy Outlook
Marsee became a fantasy darling in 2025 with a .436 average, three homers and six steals in his first 13 games after getting the call to the majors Aug. 1. He ended the year in a 1-for-21 rut over his final six games, but Marsee finished with an .842 OPS and 133 wRC+ over his first 234 big-league plate appearances. Drafted by San Diego in 2022, Marsee was traded to Miami in 2024 along with three other players in exchange for Luis Arraez. Showcasing an advanced plate approach for 24 years old, Marsee drew 22 walks compared to 48 strikeouts while chasing at a low rate as a rookie. His left-on-left splits were encouraging. Conversely, the outfielder was caught stealing six times in 20 attempts, ranking only in the 68th percentile for sprint speed. Expecting similar rate stats for 2026 would be foolish, but Marsee looks like he could be a building block for the Marlins. Read Past Outlooks
Taking seat against southpaw
Marsee is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.
Analysis
After Marsee started the last six games, the Marlins will give the left-handed hitter a day off with southpaw Jesus Luzardo on the hill for Philadelphia. Esteury Ruiz will spell Marsee in center field and bat eighth.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Marsee was a nice sleeper prospect last season before fully breaking out in the Arizona Fall League. The 22-year-old lefty-hitting outfielder slashed .274/.413/.428 with 16 home runs, 46 steals (83.6% success rate) and more walks (98) than strikeouts (97) in 129 games between High-A and Double-A. He then slashed .391/.509/.707 with five home runs and 16 steals in 24 AFL games. Marsee is said to have good makeup and is known for getting the most out of his physical tools, as he lacks above-average raw power or speed, and gets by because of his discerning eye at the plate and good instincts on the bases. He could be a Lars Nootbaar type of leadoff hitter who hits lower in the order or sits against lefties, but given that he has only played 16 games at Double-A and has never been young for his level, it's still not a given that Marsee will get to enough power against high-level pitching to avoid fourth-outfielder duty. A couple things working in his favor are San Diego's shallow depth chart and his ability to play all three outfield spots.

Extension on horizon?
According to Christina De Nicola of MLB.com, the Marlins have approached Marsee regarding a potential contract extension.
Analysis
The 24-year-old had a strong showing as a rookie in 2025, posting a .292/.363/.478 slash line with five homers, 14 steals, 33 RBI and 28 runs in 55 big-league games. Marsee won't be eligible for arbitration for a couple more seasons, but Miami is still interested in securing him on a long-term deal. He should enter 2026 as the club's primary starter in center field.
