2026 Fantasy Outlook
Lee will likely make his big-league debut in 2026, but it's unclear how much playing time will be available. Detroit has collected a plethora of a bat-first infielders who can masquerade at second and third base, and Lee is a better defender than Colt Keith, Max Anderson and Jace Jung, so that edge in the field is his path to playing. Lee, who originally signed with the Phillies out of Taiwan in 2021 and was traded to Detroit at the 2023 deadline for Michael Lorenzen, spent his entire age-22 season at Triple-A, where he was the sixth-youngest qualified hitter. He slashed .243/.342/.406 with 14 home runs and 22 steals in 126 games, good for a 106 wRC+. The 22 steals oversell his upside in that category, as he's just an average runner. Lee was a little unlucky on balls in play (.292 BABIP), especially given his all-fields approach (39.4 Oppo%), and he makes excellent swing decisions (26.8 O-Swing%, 67.1 Z-Swing%), so while his batting averages may never be great, he should log an acceptable OBP during his prime years. Analysis
Lee had settled in as the Tigers' primary option at second base to close out June, but he looks to have moved into more of a part-time role since the calendar flipped to July. He'll be on the bench for the third time in four games to begin the month while Zach McKinstry grabs a start at the keystone.
