Dominic Canzone

Dominic Canzone

28-Year-Old OutfielderOF
Seattle Mariners
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Canzone rebounded nicely from his injury-impacted 2024 season to be an effective platoon outfielder for the surprising Mariners club. He hit .308/.355/.524 against righties, which included 10 of his 11 homers along with a 141 wRC+ thanks to favorable matchups in his platoon. He did not have enough qualifying plate appearances, but his under-the-hood indicators on the bottom of his player page are more green than red, which is tough to overlook. Canzone can be sneaky valuable in a deeper AL-Only league, even without a full-time role. Right now, he would be projected to DH or share some time with Victor Robles in right field, but there could be 20 homers in this bat if he gets full-time at-bats, but that would likely come at the cost of some batting average regression. Canzone is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Yankees.
Analysis
The 28-year-old clubbed two solo homers Opening Day but has otherwise begun the season 1-for-7 with a double. Southpaw Max Fried is taking the mound Tuesday for the Yankees, so Canzone will take a seat in favor of Rob Refsnyder as the pair operate in a platoon at designated hitter.

Stat Review
How does Dominic Canzone compare to other hitters?
This section compares his stats with all batting seasons from the previous three seasons (minimum 400 plate appearances)*. The bar represents the player's percentile rank. For example, if the bar is halfway across, then the player falls into the 50th percentile for that stat and it would be considered average.

* Exit Velocity and Barrels/PA % are benchmarked against 2019 data (min 400 PA) and Hard Hit Rate is benchmarked against last season's data (min 400 PA). See here for more exit velocity/barrels stats plus an explanation of current limitations with that data set.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2025
2024
Canzone served as the left-handed portion of a corner outfield platoon for most of the season, though he was limited to just 67 games after needing two IL stints and being demoted to Triple-A Tacoma for the final month of the campaign. His wRC+ was only 87, though he improved to 112 on the farm. Canzone usually fans around the league average clip but last season he punched out 28.2 percent of the time. His hard-hit rate and barrel rate were both above average, so if Canzone can revert to higher contact, he could be back in the corner outfield and DH mix with an impressive spring training. Even so, Canzone is off the fantasy map, save for the deepest of formats.
An eighth-round selection out of Ohio State in 2019, Canzone tore up minor-league pitching in his time in the Arizona system, and he was one of the key components of the trade that sent Paul Sewald from the Mariners to the Diamondbacks near the deadline. His time in the majors wasn't nearly as successful with a OPS of .657 with six homers in 59 games at the highest level, but there were enough flashes of success combined with his stats in the minors to believe that there's fantasy upside in his profile. There's well above-average power in his left-handed bat, and he did a good job of making consistent contact with a strikeout rate of just 17.6 percent in his rookie campaign. The 26-year-old didn't show much patience at the plate, however, and well below-average speed means he won't be a stolen-base threat now or going forward. Canzone will have a chance to win a regular spot with the Mariners against right-handed pitching barring a plethora of offseason moves, and a breakout season -- while far from a foregone conclusion -- is well within reach.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Sets sights on 2026
OFSeattle Mariners
November 17, 2025
General manager Justin Hollander is confident in the pieces the team has in place for the 2026 season in right field, including Canzone, Victor Robles and Luke Raley, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis
Canzone was unable to make much of an impact during the playoffs, but the club was still pleased with his performance during the regular season. "Dom was awesome for most of the year," said Hollander. "He had some hard-hit balls at people in the playoffs. He got a little out of whack, wasn't on time in the Toronto series." Canzone put together the best regular season of his young big-league career, batting .300 with 11 home runs, 32 RBI, three stolen bases and 30 runs scored in 82 games. He appears poised to play a major role in this Seattle offense in 2026, presumably seeing time in the DH slot as well as in right field.
