Cole Carrigg

24-Year-Old OutfielderOF
Colorado Rockies
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Carrigg has started to show more flaws as a hitter as he's climbed the ranks, but he has also emerged as a premium defender in center field, which will put less pressure on his bat. He slashed .237/.316/.394 with 15 home runs and 46 steals in a full season at Double-A. A conflict with an umpire led to Carrigg missing a few games late in the year, but he still played a career-high 123 games and has stolen 99 bases over the last two seasons. Carrigg's strikeout rate jumped from 19 percent in 2024 at High-A to 27 percent last year at Double-A, and at 23, he wasn't young for the level. Coors Field will aid Carrigg's average and OBP, but he could still be a drag in those categories if his glove earns him playing time. Read Past Outlooks

Lifts third homer Monday
OFColorado Rockies
June 15, 2026
Carrigg went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run, an additional RBI and a walk in Monday's 5-4 loss to the Cubs.
Analysis
Carrigg was credited with driving in all four of his club's runs, as he drew a bases-loaded walk in the sixth inning before cranking a three-run homer in the eighth frame to give the Rockies a lead they would ultimately squander. The early returns on the rookie have been positive, as he has gone 7-for-27 (.259) with three homers, a triple, eight RBI, six runs and three walks through seven games. Carrigg has yet to attempt a steal, though he's known for his activity on the basepaths after swiping 29 bags in 57 games with Triple-A Albuquerque prior to being promoted.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2025
2024
A switch-hitting, high-energy player with exciting tools, Carrigg has yet to be tested with a challenging assignment, but he's excelled at every stop since getting drafted with the 65th overall pick in 2023. At the time he was drafted, it seemed he could end up at any of the three premium up-the-middle positions. In 2024, Carrigg made 92 starts in center field and 13 starts at shortstop, with his time behind the dish seemingly a thing of the past. He slashed .280/.358/.475 with 16 home runs, 51 steals and a 19 percent strikeout rate at High-A. Carrigg did more damage in the hitter-friendly park in Spokane (.903 OPS) than on the road (.797 OPS), but his eight road homers and .465 road slugging percentage are still encouraging marks, given that power was the main question with Carrigg coming into the year. He turns 23 in May, so he'll need to keep producing at Double-A, but there seem to be some pretty high-end fantasy outcomes possible with Carrigg, especially in batting average leagues.
A high-energy player with experience at virtually every position, including pitcher, Carrigg has plus speed, a double-plus arm and a potentially above-average hit tool. The Rockies gave him an over-slot $1.3 million bonus after taking him out of San Diego State with the 65th overall pick. He played 15 games in center field, 10 games at shortstop and seven games at catcher while climbing from rookie ball to Single-A. He hit .329 with one home run and 15 steals while striking out at an 18.1 percent clip in 41 games with a wood bat on the Cape in 2022 and slashed .303/.357/.458 with two home runs and 17 steals in 42 games for SDSU last spring. Given his bat speed and 6-foot-3, 200-pound frame, there was a chance he could get to more power, and Carrigg delivered in his pro debut. He slashed .350/.408/.600 with five home runs, 10 doubles and five triples while also swiping 13 bases in 36 games, albeit in hitter-friendly conditions while being old for his levels. Carrigg's athleticism and potential to qualify at catcher while also playing other up-the-middle positions makes him an intriguing mid-round target in first-year player drafts.
