2026 Fantasy Outlook
Osuna raised his prospect profile in 2024, when he belted 18 home runs and stole 17 bases while earning the organization's Minor League Player of the Year. He manages the strike zone well for his age and once fully developed, Osuna could be a plus hitter with average power. Although he's recorded double-digit steals three times in the minors, he's an average runner and was caught 39 percent of the time. After an impressive spring training, Osuna made his MLB debut in May, when Joc Pederson went down with a fractured hand. The 23-year-old was used sparingly throughout the summer before receiving an extended look in September (70 PA, .748 OPS). Osuna managed the MLB strike zone (19.3 K%, 12.2 BB%), much like he did in the minors and batted .212 over 63 games. With just 67 plate appearances at the Triple-A level, it's likely Osuna begins 2026 at Round Rock for more seasoning. He should rejoin Texas later in the season, and maybe sooner if the organization quickly accepts 2026 as a transition year. Read Past Outlooks
Exiting starting nine
Osuna is not in the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Yankees.
Analysis
The left-handed-hitting Osuna had made nine straight starts in left field against right-handed pitching, but he'll grab a seat for Thursday's series finale. Ezequiel Duran will patrol left field and bat second for the Rangers.

Analysis
Joc Pederson suffered a fractured right hand during Saturday's game against the White Sox, and the injury is expected to keep the slugger on the shelf for around six weeks. Osuna is poised to take his place on the roster, but since he's not on the 40-man roster yet, a corresponding move will need to be made to allow Osuna's contract to be selected. The 22-year-old boasts a .277/.370/.436 slash line in 373 career games across all levels of the minors.
