Pickford had one of the best seasons of his career as he conceded just 44 goals in 2024/25, the second-fewest in his nine Premier League seasons, and kept 12 clean sheets for the second season in a row. With most of his primary defenders set to return next season, his stock is fairly high heading into the 2025/26 campaign. While there are certainly better and more premium fantasy goalkeeper options, Pickford is a consistent performer who has a good chance to keep a clean sheet against any opponent.
Excellent despite loss

ANALYSIS
Pickford stopped three of the five shots he faced during Wednesday's loss. He was excellent in the second half as England tried to resist the excellent Argentina attack. He made two finger-tip saves and controlled the penalty area well, but in the end it wasn't enough. He was beaten from distance once and then conceded a header right from the middle of the box a few minutes later. Pickford was excellent throughout the World Cup, but will now play in the third-place playoff against France on Saturday.
