McGuire finished 2023 in scintillating form and was one of the most-hyped young strikers coming in to 2024. It would be unfair to call 2024 a disaster, but any season where a striker is relegated to the bench isn't exactly good. In the end, McGuire finished with 10 goals and three assists, a downturn from 2023. He also underwent shoulder surgery in the offseason, which will deny him any sort of preseason and sideline him until March at the earliest. Ramiro Enrique seems to be set to lead the line to start the season, with Luis Muriel another option.
