ANALYSIS
Chaves put past his own goalkeeper during Saturday's loss, an own goal that proved crucial in the one-goal loss. It was a day to forget for the defender, who did little at the other end to make up for his error. Chaves will hope to move past this and get back to his best in the future.

Joins Augsburg on loan
Chaves joins Augsburg on loan from Hoffenheim until the end of the season, with an option to buy, his new club announced. "Due to the injury-related absences of Chrislain Matsima and Jeffrey Gouweleeuw, it was clear to us that we wanted to strengthen our defense. With Arthur, we are signing a combative center-back who fits our requirements perfectly and can play in all three positions in the back line. He knows the Bundesliga very well and can therefore help us immediately," said FCA Sporting Director Benni Weber.

Inks extension with Hoffenheim
Chaves has signed a new long term contract with TSG Hoffenheim, the club announced.
