2025 Fantasy Outlook
Onana recorded nine clean sheets in the 2024/25 season, equaling the same number he had in 2023/24 despite playing four fewer matches. Still, he had a disappointing season by most metrics. Not only did Onana give up 44 goals while making 90 saves, but he committed costly mistakes time and time again, and didn't deliver a much-needed sense of security between the posts in a struggling defensive line. Onana figures to remain the starter for the 2025/26 campaign, but after back-to-back woeful seasons filled with mistakes, it's hard to trust Onana as a reliable goalkeeping option. He shouldn't be drafted as one of the first goalkeepers off the board, but if you're scrambling in mid-to-late rounds, Onana could be a decent alternative. A reason to back him is that United could get better with a healthier back line and that leads to 10-plus clean sheets.
Returns to United after loan
Onana is set to rejoin Manchester United following the end of his loan to Turkish team Trabzonspor, according to his parent club.
ANALYSIS
Onana is coming off a rather productive period during the initial months of 2026, having posted averages of 2.7 saves and 1.2 goals conceded per game across 29 appearances in the Turkish league. However, he's currently not expected to feature for a Red Devils side that has found a reliable option in Senne Lammens. Thus, Onana's future is still uncertain heading into the 2026/27 campaign.

Not expected back at Old Trafford
Trabzonspor want to sign Onana on a permanent basis this summer, according to The Mirror.
ANALYSIS
Onana spent the 2025/26 campaign on loan at Trabzonspor, and the scenario is simple. The Turkish side wants to keep him around on a permanent basis, while the Old Trafford club isn't interested in bringing him back following the loan and the excellent performances of Senne Lammens. Don't be surprised if both parties reach an agreement for a transfer at some point in the summer.
