Beiranvand has allowed just three total goals in the last two World Cup's across five games, but that hasn't been enough for significant runs in the competition. The goalkeeper has consistently performed exceptionally at the World Cup and with a defensive team in front of him he could repeat those performances. Iran have had a disjointed ramp up to the World Cup due to the current political climate, so there's a chance they come in out of sorts and without their usually rigid shape. If nothing else, Beiranvand is a competent back stop behind a defensively stout unit.
