2026 Fantasy Outlook
Mayer would collect just one victory last season, but he would greatly improve his consistency in the No. 41 car. The young driver nabbed 18 Top-10 finishes and lowered his average finish for the season to a spotless 11.5 (career-best mark). Hope abounds for even more accomplishments in 2026. The Haas Factory Team switches from Ford to Chevrolet in the upcoming season. Mayer will once again team with crew chief, Jason Trinchere, and the two will look to grab more wins and to become more competitive in the championship quest. Considering that Mayer has demonstrated in recent seasons that he's capable of three-to-four wins and many Top 10's, this should not be a big task. Intermediate ovals and road circuits are his strength, so that will be good to build on. Read Past Outlooks
Sneaks into Top 10
Mayer finished 10th in Saturday's NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series Sport Clip Haircuts VFW Help A Hero 200 at Darlington Raceway.
ANALYSIS
Mayer started sixth, but battled a loose car in the first stage, dropping back to 21st by the end of the stage, two spots ahead of teammate Sheldon Creed. While Creed would end up in front of Mayer by the finish, both Haas Factory Team cars worked their way up through the field, with Mayer bringing the No. 41 home 10th. Up next is Martinsville, where Mayer finsihed fifth and seventh last season.

2021
Stewart Haas Racing closed their doors at the conclusion of 2024, but the new team born from that is the Haas Factory Team. They were a very competitive outfit last season with four combined wins and 38 combined Top-10 finishes between both Cole Custer and Riley Herbst. Those two drivers have moved onto the Cup Series and in comes Mayer to carry the baton. The 21-year-old prospect has spent the last two seasons stacking up seven victories and 32 Top-10 finishes with JR Motorsports. Mayer will now pair with crew chief, Jason Trinchere, and get a shot at contending for a championship in the No. 41 Ford (formerly the No. 98 Ford). This young driver has the ability to win on intermediate ovals, short tracks and road circuits and that makes Mayer a very dangerous competitor in terms of the championship picture.
