ANALYSIS
McMillen's style of fighting would appear to be entirely unsustainable and highly volatile on a fight-by-fight basis, but it's supremely entertaining to watch and looks great when it works. Simply put, Tommy never stops coming forward and throwing an insane amount of volume. In 13-plus minutes here, he closed with a 252-66 edge in significant strikes landed, including an 81-7 mark in Round 3. Any mere mortal would have crumbled far earlier than Montes. The real question is whether this style will work against better competition. Highly-skilled opposition is going to use McMillen's aggressiveness against him. The fact he doesn't have much in the way of grappling doesn't help, either. Until then, enjoy the ride.

Facing an opponent in Zecchini that hadn't fought since September 2023 and was willing to engage McMillen in the brawl he was seeking, Tommy eventually wore down his overmatched opponent, finishing him with a wild exchange. McMillen is going to get some hype because he's one of the main training partners of Sean O'Malley, but expectations should be kept in check until he takes on some better competition.
