Losing streak hits three
Turcios lost to Alberto Montes via technical submission (anaconda choke) at 0:40 of Round 2 at UFC 326 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
The winner of Season 29 of The Ultimate Fighter, Turcios has had a disastrous run since officially joining the company and this figures to be the final straw. He was battered on the feet by Montes throughout Round 1 before getting caught in the choke and going to sleep early in Round 2. Ricky has simply displayed no consistency in any facet of the game. Set to turn 33 years of age in early June, the Houston native has lost three straight and four of five dating back July 2022. A release is by far the most likely outcome here.

Booked against debutant
Turcios will fight Alberto Montes at UFC 326 on March 7, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Turcios has dropped each of his last two fights to fall to 2-3 in the UFC, and he remains in search of his first win since November 2022. His next chance to right the ship will come against Montes, who hasn't fought since signing a contract with the promotion back in October 2024.

Pay-per-view fight canceled
Turcios will not fight Cameron Smotherman at UFC 324 on Saturday, according to Aaron Bronsteter of Sportsnet.
ANALYSIS
The cancellation comes from Smotherman's side, as he fainted and was stretchered out during weigh-ins. As for Turcios, his 2026 year's first fight will have to be put on hold.

Booked for UFC 324
Turcios will take on Cameron Smotherman in a bantamweight matchup at UFC 324 on Jan. 24, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Turcios has lost three of his last four and hasn't competed since losing a decision to Bernardo Sopaj in January of 2025. He now draws another struggling fighter in Smotherman, who has eerily similar striking marks. Turcios does have a slight wrestling threat to his game that Smotherman does not. He'll also sport a two-inch edge in reach.

Drops war to Bernardo Sopaj
Turcios lost to Bernardo Sopaj via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 28-29) at UFC 311 on Saturday in Los Angeles.
ANALYSIS
Turcios is one of the most exciting and best-conditioned bantamweights on the roster. On the flip side, he's also one of the least technical fighters, and that again showed itself in this fight. While he was more than willing to engage with Sopaj on every exchange, Bernardo landed the cleaner, more damaging blows throughout the course of the bout. Ricky has more ability than his 2-3 record with the UFC would lead you to believe, but having lost back-to-back fights, Turcios probably needs a win his next time out in order to extend his time with the company.

Reschedules Sopaj bout
Turcios has rescheduled his bantamweight bout with Bernardo Sopaj for UFC 311 on January 18, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Turcios withdrew from this fight, initially scheduled for UFC Vegas 100, back in November. He cited medical problems, but now the bantamweight appears to be ready to roll as the bout has been rescheduled. He'll look for a bounce-back victory after falling to Raul Rosas Jr. via Rear Naked Choke back in June.
