Quickly finished in UFC debut
WelterweightOther
February 21, 2026
Harrell lost to Jacobe Smith via TKO (strikes) at 3:01 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Houston.
ANALYSIS
Fully recovered from a brain procedure and set to make his UFC debut multiple years after originally scheduled, Harrell had massive issues dealing with the physicality of Smith. Josiah appeared to be in top position after both men fell to the mat, but Smith reversed him with ease, pinned his arm and unloaded bombs until referee Kerry Hatley -- about five seconds too late -- had seen enough. Smith might be really good, so we probably shouldn't read too much into this result. Harrell will get another shot with the company and should be in better position for success his next time out.
