Needs new opponent in Vegas
BantamweightUFC
June 30, 2026
Basharat is without an opponent for UFC 329 on July 11 following the withdrawal of Ethyn Ewing (undisclosed), Damon Martin of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Basharat will now need a new adversary following Ewing's dismissal from the card with an undisclosed injury, which occurred less than two weeks before the scheduled fight date. Still undefeated as a pro and 6-0 with the UFC, Basharat will likely enter as a favorite against whomever the UFC can come up with on short notice.

Looks to stay undefeated
BantamweightUFC
May 21, 2026
Basharat will take on Ethyn Ewing in a bantamweight matchup at UFC 329 on July 11, Marcel Dorff of Heavy On Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Basharat will look to put his undefeated record on the line against a surprise prospect in Ewing, who already has two upset victories on his UFC ledger. It's a short sample size for Ewing, but he's show a tremendous striking volume thus far and has yet to be taken down. Basharat will be the toughest opponent Ewing has faced to date, however, and he'll enter with two-inch advantages in both height and reach.
Remains undefeated as pro

Basharat defeated Jean Matsumoto via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Basharat's undefeated professional record remains in tact. Barely. This fight was way closer than most expected given the fact Farid entered as a -300 favorite. Basharat was the cleaner, crisper striker and did most of the damage in the rare instances in which the two fought at distance. Matsumoto primarily leaned on his wrestling game, landing seven takedowns on 11 attempts. To Basharat's credit, he didn't absorb much damage from the bottom and landed two well-timed takedowns of his own. This was a 50/50 decision, and sometimes you just need luck on your side. Perfect in six UFC bouts, the fact Basharat isn't even ranked tells you all you need to know about the insane depth of the bantamweight division.

Basharat will take on Jean Matsumoto in a bantamweight bout at UFC Vegas 113 on Feb. 7, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Basharat is 5-0 in the UFC and remains undefeated as a pro. Matsumoto, who got the best of Miles Johns his last time in the Octagon, will look to change that.

Basharat defeated Chris Gutierrez via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC 320 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
As a -600 favorite, it would have been nice to see Basharat get the stoppage. Or, at a minimum, fight a complete 15 minutes. Farid did neither, although he still managed to get the victory he came for and remain undefeated as a professional. Basharat closed with a 41-31 edge in significant strikes landed, in addition to connecting on both of his takedown attempts. He did enough good work over the first 10 minutes to survive a poor Round 3. The 28-year-old deserves a ranked opponent his next time out.

Basharat will take on Chris Gutierrez in a featherweight bout at UFC 320 on Oct. 4, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Basharat sits at a perfect 4-0 in the UFC. In fact, he has yet to lose a professional bout. Most recently, he took care of Victor Hugo back in October of 2024. He'll face a much more experienced fighter, however, in Gutierrez, who sits at 10-3-1 in the UFC.
