Runs winning streak to six
Perez defeated Macy Chiasson via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Mexico City.
ANALYSIS
If you've seen one Perez fight, you've seen them all. She wins with grappling and control time. She does very little work from top position and absorbs almost no damage herself. All of those things were true this evening. All told, Perez landed 6-of-10 takedowns for 7:36 worth of control time. The fact she was credited with only 27 significant strikes landed is mind blowing, but to be fair, she only absorbed eight significant strikes from Chiasson and no more than four in any one round. The UFC has taken it very slowly with Perez in terms of the level of competition she has been matched up against, and the Argentinian has responded with six straight wins, including five via decision. This type of skill set typically doesn't play well against the best in the world, but we won't know that for sure until Perez is sufficiently challenged.

Runs winning streak to five
Perez defeated Karol Rosa via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27) at UFC 311 on Saturday in Los Angeles.
ANALYSIS
Perez landed very little on the way of damaging offense, but her grappling over the course of the first two rounds was enough to help her pull the upset as a +205 underdog. Ailin muscled her way into one takedown in each frame, racking up 4:15 worth of control time in the first 10 minutes. Rosa managed to close the gap in Round 3 on the feet, but the damage was already done. Perez's power is lacking, and she's not an explosive wrestler, but it's impossible to argue with the results of late. She's won five straight, all against lower-level competition, on the heels of a submission defeat to Stephanie Egger in her UFC debut back in September 2022.

This is an opportunity for Perez to enter the top ten in the women's bantamweight rankings. Rosa is ranked No. 9, and Perez will look to improve her winning streak to five.

Stoppage win after weight miss
Perez defeated Darya Zheleznyakova via submission (arm-triangle choke) at 3:52 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Paris.
ANALYSIS
It was another strong performance by Perez, with this one largely muted by the fact she missed weight by half a pound on Friday morning. She simply muscled Zheleznyakova to the mat and easily choked her out. Five fights into her UFC career, Perez has proven to be deceptively strong for her size. She's an underrated wrestler and has proven to be opportunistic. While that's all well and good, she'll be 30 years of age next week. Her four victories with the company have come over Zheleznyakova, Joselyne Edwards, Lucie Pudilova, and Ashlee Evans-Smith. In short, we still know nothing about Perez's long-term potential. She needs a significant step up in competition her next time out.
