2026 Fantasy Outlook
Heiskanen delivered the bounce-back his prior outlook predicted, suiting up for 77 regular-season games and posting nine goals, 54 assists and 63 points for Dallas while also racking up 132 blocked shots and 26 power-play assists. The 26-year-old maintained his role as the Stars' primary minute-eater by averaging over 25 minutes per game for the second straight regular season. The two power-play goals are light, but the assist-driven profile and elite all-situations workload make him a legitimate top-12 fantasy defenseman in essentially all formats, especially ones that include blocks as a category. With Dallas still in win-now mode and Heiskanen squarely in his prime, project another 60-plus-point season for 2026-27 with the upside for a return to his 73-point peak if everything goes his way. Pair of points in Game 5 loss
Heiskanen scored a power-play goal on two shots and added an assist in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Wild in Game 5.
ANALYSIS
Heiskanen has gotten on the scoresheet in all five games in this series, though this was his first multi-point effort since March 12 versus the Oilers. The 26-year-old defenseman has two goals and four helpers, with all but one of those five points coming on the power play. He's added 19 shots on net, seven blocked shots and a minus-5 rating while seeing significant top-pairing minutes and ice time in all situations.

Heiskanen suffered a long-term knee injury in January that kept him out until the second round of the playoffs. Even when healthy, it was a down year for the do-it-all defenseman, who had just 25 points in 50 regular-season contests. His 0.5 points-per-game pace was his lowest in four years, and it's possible Heiskanen won't be the top offensive defenseman for the Stars anymore since Thomas Harley has emerged as an excellent scorer from the blue line. Heiskanen still plays a massive role thanks to his defensive skill set, and he's likely due for a bounce-back on offense, as he hasn't matched the highs of his 73-point effort in 2022-23 or the 54-point season that followed it in 2023-24. He may come at a discount in drafts this fall due to the lengthy absence he had, and savvy fantasy managers will be willing to take the risk on him given his track record.

Might play in Game 1
Heiskanen, who is dealing with a lower-body injury, is likely to play in Game 1 on Saturday, but his return isn't certain, Mark Lazerus of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Heiskanen missed the final three games of the regular season due to the injury. He had nine goals and 63 points in 77 regular-season outings with the Stars in 2025-26. Ilya Lyubushkin might be a healthy scratch Saturday if Heiskanen is ready to return.
