Tom Kim

22-Year-Old Golfer
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Kim secured two wins in 2022-23, both at the Shriners Children's Open. He also impressed with a T8 at the U.S. Open and T2 at the Open Championship. The 21-year-old might not have the ideal length to be one of the top players in the world, but he has proven hil ability bto make up for it with the irons and on the greens. Kim was 10th in SG: Approach and 21st in Putts per GIR last season. He is not afraid to play a ton of events and has been consistently in the mix with a 55 percent top-25 rate. Expect to see a similar season in 2024. Read Past Outlooks
Falls short at Genesis Championship
October 28, 2024
Kim was defeated on the first playoff hole by Byeong Hun An at the Genesis Championship and would have to settle for second place.
ANALYSIS
Kim was in control of this tournament on the back-nine before An closed with birdies on three of the final four holes to force a playoff. An was able to continue the momentum and make another birdie in the playoff that Kim was unable to match. It certainly has to be frustrating to just miss out on a win in your home country. Kim is still looking for his first win in 2024, but he does now have four top-10s in his last ten starts an his approach game is as good as ever.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Kim burst on the scene this summer as a 20-year-old. He was a standout at the Scottish Open finishing solo third and then a few weeks later became the second-youngest winner on the PGA Tour since WWII with his victory at the Wyndham Championship. Kim would unfortunately just miss out on the Tour Championship, but there is so much potential here to tap into here when he gets a full season on the PGA Tour. He is a fairways and greens machine who would have graded top-20 if he had enough rounds in key categories like SG: Approach, SG: Tee-to-Green, birdie average and scoring average.
