2026 Fantasy Outlook
Novak had a breakout season in 2025 collecting nine top-15 finishes, including his first PGA Tour victory at the Zurich Classic with Ben Griffin. He also nearly bagged another victory at a signature event in the RBC Heritage, but fell to Justin Thomas in a playoff. Many thought Novak was in a good spot to make the Ryder Cup team, but his performance tailed off over the second half of the season. The 30-year-old ranked outside the top 70 in SG: Total and adjusted scoring average in 2025, which didn't really match up to where he ended up in earnings. The ball striking for Novak has to be better in 2026 if he's going to be a more consistent player. Last season he was outside the top 150 in total driving and GIR percentage. Read Past Outlooks
Struggles on greens in Scotland
July 13, 2026
Novak carded a one-over 71 on Sunday at the Genesis Scottish Open to finish one-over and tied for 61st.
ANALYSIS
Novak opened his week at The Renaissance Club with a four-under 66 on Thursday when he gained 3.21 strokes around the green, but he failed to shoot even-par or better throughout the remainder of the event, falling to dead last among those who made the cut in each of SG: Putting, putts per GIR and total feet of putts made. However, Novak ranked 21st in SG: Tee-to-Green and T22 in GIR percentage. He's fallen to 83rd in the FedExCup standings with just one top-50 result in his last six starts, but Novak will be in attendance again this week at Royal Birkdale for his second career Open Championship outing.

2023
2022
Novak's third season on Tour was his best one yet, and although he didn't do enough to qualify for the playoffs, he made a solid 19-of-26 cuts with five top-10s. His biggest improvement was with his iron play, where he went from 99th in SG: Approach last year to 23rd in 2024. There aren't any glaring weaknesses in his game, and the biggest question heading into 2025 will be if he can work his way into contention more often and play better against stronger fields. He's a sleeper option with potential to continue to improve.
Bolstered by ninth-place finishes at the Verlo Texas Open and the RBC Canadian Open, Novak salvaged a medicore year, but relatively solid considering he's only played a full PGA Tour schedule for two seasons. Novak took a step forward in his driving effectivenss, which was his Achilles heel last year. An apt putter, Novak will continue to improve as he works on other aspects of his game.
Novak didn’t have a particularly notable rookie season, but he did just enough to earn fully exempt status for 2023. It will be interesting to monitor the 27-year-old American heading into his second full year on Tour. His strengths are his scrambling and putting. Perhaps he can add some distance and consistency to his game this offseason. Historically, Novak makes just over half of his PGA cuts.
Novak's 10 top-10s on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2020-21 included a win at the 2020 LECOM Suncoast Classic where he played his final 54 holes in 20-under par. Additionally, the 26-year-old made the cut in 10 of his last 11 KFT starts dating to a T9 at the REX Hospital Open. However, Novak ranked 64th or worse on the Korn Ferry Tour in driving distance and GIR percentage.
