Tampa Bay Buccaneers
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Diaby hit the ground running as a rookie third-round pick in 2023, recording 7.5 sacks among his 38 tackles across 17 games. As might be expected, he encouragingly came on in the later portion of the season after getting some NFL reps under his belt, recording 5.5 of his sacks between Weeks 10 and 18. The hope is the momentum carries over into this season, as he's expected to handle a starting role in his second campaign. His quickness and knack for getting to the quarterback could give Diaby quite the IDP boost this year if he does indeed enjoy the expected boost in snaps. Read Past Outlooks

Suffers ankle sprain Thursday
LBTampa Bay Buccaneers
August 1, 2024
Diaby was carted off the field during Thursday's practice with what was subsequently diagnosed as a high-ankle sprain, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Diaby was thought to potentially have suffered a much more serious injury when he initially went down, but Rapoport reports the updated diagnosis of a high-ankle sprain carries a 4-to-6-week recovery timeline. The 2023 third-round pick showed great promise as a rookie with 7.5 sacks across 17 regular-season games in what was mostly a rotational role, and he's being counted on as the starter at left outside linebacker in head coach Todd Bowles' scheme heading into 2024.
