2025 Fantasy Outlook
Mallory suited up for 10 regular-season games in 2024, two more contests than he played in as a rookie, but he took a step back in terms of both offensive snaps and receiving production - with four grabs for 28 yards (on eight targets) versus 18 catches for 207 yards (26 targets) in 2023. His involvement could well decline again in 2024, given that rookie No. 14 overall pick Tyler Warren projects to dominate key reps at the tight end position once brought up to speed. Mallory (lung) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Texans, Amanda Foster of the Colts' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Mallory was unable to practice Wednesday or Thursday and is now in line to miss the Week 18 divisional matchup due to a lung issue. The third-year pro from Miami appeared in just two games for Indianapolis this season, catching his lone target for 16 yards across 16 offensive snaps. While Mallory is sidelined Sunday, expect Tyler Warren and Mo Alie-Cox to serve as the Colts' top tight ends.

2024
2023
Mallory appeared in 12 games as a rookie last season, and the 2023 fifth-round draft pick out of Miami caught 18 of 26 targets for 207 yards. No Colts tight end had more than 368 yards last season, but four had at least 147, and that was without Jelani Woods, who missed the entire season due to a hamstring injury. All of those tight ends remain on the roster heading into 2024, so Mallory will have to jostle for playing time in a deep position group without a clear top dog. If healthy, the 6-foot-7 Woods figures to be the top red-zone option over the 6-foot-4 Mallory, who has yet to score a touchdown in the NFL and watched Kylen Granson, Mo Alie-Cox and Andrew Ogletree combine for six scores in 2023.
The Colts already had one of the more crowded tight end rooms in the NFL, but they still took Mallory in the fifth round of the 2023 draft. The Miami (Fla.) product is a different type of tight end than most of the other options in Indianapolis; he's on the smaller side (6-4, 239) in terms of frame but he was a solid producer in college with 14 career touchdowns and 115 receptions. Mallory also turned in a solid combine (4.54 40, 36-inch vertical). It's unclear how exactly the Colts will use him because he won't help much as a blocker, but perhaps Mallory could earn reps as a big slot option.
