Ogbonnia is slated to sign a one-year, $3 million deal with the Cowboys, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Ogbonnia played nine regular-season games with the Chargers last season, logging double-digit defensive snaps in just seven of those contests. The 25-year-old will likely fill the role of rotational nose tackle or defensive end behind starters Quinnen Williams, Kenny Clark and Osa Odighizuwa.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2025
2024
The 2022 fifth-round pick finally broke out in 2024 starting all 17 games while compiling 37 tackles and 489 defensive snaps as a gap-eating defensive lineman in coach Jim Harbaugh's defensive scheme. The Chargers like to have a number of bigger bodies up front, so while Ogbonnia will rotate snaps frequently, expect the 24-year-old to serve a critical role up front.
The third-year pro is poised to take over as the starting nose tackle after Austin Johnson left via free agency, but Ogbonnia will likely share work with veteran addition Poona Ford, especially in obvious running situations. The 2022 fifth-round pick has played in just 15 total games through two seasons due to various lower-body injuries.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Recovery timeline uncertain
DTLos Angeles Chargers
May 19, 2023
Ogbonnia, who suffered a season-ending quadriceps injury in Week 10 of the 2022 campaign, doesn't yet have a firm return timeline as mandatory minicamp and training camp approach, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The rookie fifth-round pick had gotten his pro career off to a solid start with 14 tackles across his first 133 defensive snaps over seven games before going down with the injury. Ogbonnia's absence in the interior of the Chargers defensive line contributed to Los Angeles ultimately surrendering an elevated 144.2 rushing yards per contest, and with his return timeline still uncertain as summer approaches, Los Angeles opted to sign some veteran insurance in the form of Nick Williams on Friday.
