Jones is in line to sign a one-year deal with the Eagles, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
The cornerback finished with 41 tackles (30 solo), including 1.0 sacks, and five passes defensed in 12 games for the Commanders in 2025. Jones spent the first nine seasons of his career with the Patriots, recording more than 40 tackles and five pass breakups in seven of those campaigns. The veteran should have a chance to compete for time as Philly's third corner alongside Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean.

2023
Jones, who's been with the Patriots since 2016, racked up 48 tackles and seven pass breakups across 14 appearances with the team in 2023. This coming season, the 30-year-old will reprise his key role in a cornerback group that also features Christian Gonzalez and Marcus Jones. In order to find his way back onto the IDP radar, however, the Auburn product will need to regain the ball-hawking ability he displayed in 2022, when he logged four picks.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Remains in New England's plans
Other teams inquired about Jones' availability at the trade deadline, but the Patriots declined to trade him, Mike Reiss of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The Patriots have made an effort to get younger on the defensive side of the ball, trading away veteran Josh Uche while also parting ways with Raekwon McMillan. Jones would have been a natural fit to also be on his way out, as he's in his age-31 season and on the final year of his current contract. The cornerback says he received assurances he remains in the team's plans however, so perhaps a contract extension is in the works.
