Tryon-Shoyinka went into 2023 with expectations that he'd finally deliver on his first-round draft pedigree, and he finished with career highs in tackles (45) and sacks (5.0) while also forcing and recovering a fumble apiece for the first time in his first three seasons. The 25-year-old actually played far fewer defensive snaps (556) than in 2022 (806). That makes last year's numbers more impressive in context, and he should be set for the highest workload of his career this fall due to offseason linebacker departures.

Unlikely to be back with Bucs
Tryon-Shoyinka isn't expected to re-sign with the Buccaneers, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
ANALYSIS
The 2021 first-round pick never lived up to his draft pedigree, and he has yet to record more than 5.0 sacks in any of his four NFL seasons. Tryon-Shoyinka's athleticism should still earn him a look in free agency from another team as a depth pass rusher.
