Getting $120 million from Panthers
Phillips agreed to a four-year, $120 million contract with the Panthers on Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Phillips' massive new contract won't be finalized until the new league year begins Wednesday. Carolina is banking on a return to form for Miami's 2021 first-round pick, as Phillips had just 6.0 sacks in 21 games split between Miami and Philadelphia over the past two regular seasons after notching at least 6.5 sacks in each of his first three campaigns with the Dolphins.

Phillips is entering the final year of his rookie contract, so his full focus will be logging an impressive contract season after having been limited to just four appearances in 2024 due to an ACL tear. The 2021 first-rounder has only suited up for 12 combined games over the last two years, making it pivotal he proves an ability to stay healthy in 2025. After a quick offseason rehab, Phillips will have an opportunity to produce in what should be a much-improved Dolphins pass rush, with Bradley Chubb returning and Chop Robinson entering Year 2.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
No. 3 on list of top free agents
Phillips is listed third among potential free agents available this offseason, as ranked by Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com.
ANALYSIS
Only potential starting QB Malik Willis and second-team All-Pro wide receiver George Pickens wound up ahead of him. Phillips only recorded 5.0 sacks in 2025 between the Dolphins and Eagles, but he played 17 regular-season games plus one playoff game for Philadelphia, an important show of health after he managed to suit up for only 12 games combined between 2023-24. At 26 years old, Phillips should still have productive years ahead of him as an edge rusher, and he led that position group on Rosenthal's list ahead of Trey Hendrickson and Odafe Oweh.
