Leads team in sacks in 2025
Highsmith posted 50 tackles (36 solo), including 9.5 sacks, along with three pass defenses and a forced fumble while appearing in 13 regular-season games in 2025.
ANALYSIS
Although Highsmith had a pair of two-game absences in 2025 due to ankle and pectoral injuries, he managed to reach the 50-tackle threshold for the fourth time in his first six professional seasons while also recording a team-high 9.5 sacks. The 2020 third-round pick saw plenty of work down the stretch after returning to game action in Week 13, and he should maintain a prominent role during the playoffs.

Highsmith missed just one game over his first four professional seasons, but he dealt with groin and ankle injuries in 2024 that sidelined him for six regular-season games. Although his total of 45 tackles (28 solo) was a career-worst mark, he had strong per-game efficiency and tallied six sacks, which was just one less than he had over 17 outings in 2023. Highsmith's injury-plagued season was an abnormality, and he should maintain plenty of playing time as long as he can remain healthy in 2025.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Potential trade target
Highsmith might be traded by the Steelers, Charles Robinson of Yahoo! Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
The Steelers may have a surplus of edge rushers with Highsmith, T.J. Watt and Nick Herbig all under contract, but Watt isn't going anywhere and Herbig is younger and making less than money than Highsmith, although he'll likely be looking for an extension after the 2026 campaign. Highsmith has had trouble staying healthy the last two seasons, but he's still recorded 15.5 sacks in 24 regular-season games, and he has two years and $30 million left on his current deal, a reasonable salary if the 28-year-old remains productive.
