Coach Mike Tomlin said Monday that Highsmith (ankle) probably won't play Thursday against the Browns, Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

The first Steelers' pass rusher to come to mind is undoubtedly T.J. Watt, but Highsmith made the case that he shouldn't be forgotten in that conversation with his performance in 2022. He took the field for a career-high 904 defensive snaps and translated that into an impressive 14.5 sacks and five forced fumbles. A deeper dive suggests Highsmith may not be ready to lead the pass rush just yet, as he had only 3.5 sacks across the seven games Watt was sidelined.
