Whether it's the first week of fall or the middle of summer, fantasy football never sleeps, and it's always time to draft. Whether you are playing seasonal, best-ball, dynasty, or another format - fantasy football rankings are of utmost importance. At RotoWire, we provide a look at the top 150 as it pertains to PPR.
Leading up to the season, I will highlight the significant changes to the PPR fantasy football rankings below. As Week 1 nears and training camps heat up, there will be more and more movement based on injuries, news, and more.
Moving Up:
Josh Jacobs: Jacobs has looked good in camp, AJ Dillon is out for the season and Marshawn Lloyd (hamstring) hasn't been practicing for most of training camp, leaving just Emanuel Wilson as the backup to Jacobs. Jacobs is going to get plenty of work early on this season.
Jerome Ford: Nick Chubb is beginning the season on the PUP List, meaning that he'll miss the first four games of the season. But that's just a minimum, it could last longer, and then once Chubb returns he'll have to have a "prove it" game before we're comfortable using him, maybe more. This gives Ford plenty of runway to establish himself as the lead back. Meanwhile, the Browns' OL is getting healthier, as both tackles Jedrick Wills and Jack Conklin came off the PUP list Monday.
Samaje Perine: Perine pulled off the mean trick of getting cut by a bad team (Denver) and landing in a better spot, signing with the Chiefs. We probably won't see much of him next Thursday against the Ravens, but we could see Perine in there on passing downs in Week 2 against his former Bengals teammates.
Moving Down:
Ja'Marr Chase: Uh-oh. When Chase returned to practice with the Bengals on Sunday, I patted myself on the back for "buying the dip" where I could, thinking all was right with the world. Bengals coach Zac Taylor even stated how he was confident that Chase would play in Week 1. Fast-forward to today, when Chase was in street clothes at practice and Taylor was walking back his comments, saying that "... he may have spoken too soon." Yeah, I'm concerned about losing a week of Chase, maybe more.
Jahan Dotson: It's possible that Dotson's trade to the Eagles will ultimately benefit him, but in the short-term he becomes their fourth target at-best, and sheds light that he was having a terrible camp with the Commanders. At the very least, he's going to need time to learn a new offense.
Elijah Mitchell and AJ Dillon: Both backs were placed on their team's respective season-ending IR at cutdown day. We weren't drafting Dillon (RB76 in the RotoWire Online Championship over the last week), but I had my shares of Mitchell with the thought that I'd get him in a few weeks.
No Change:
Russell Wilson: Wilson has officially won the Steelers' starting quarterback job, but that still doesn't make me want him anywhere on my roster.
