ANALYSIS
While the Aztecs offense struggled as a whole Saturday, Poke was able to deliver one of his better outings of the season, highlighted by a 46-yard touchdown grab in the third quarter, his first off the season. The senior wideout now has 42 receptions for 383 yards in 10 games after joining San Diego State as a transfer from West Virginia in the offseason.

Poke has decided to make the jump from the group of five to the Power Five with his move from Kent State to West Virginia. The Mountaineers will need him as they lost receivers Bryce Ford-Wheaton, Sam James, Kaden Prather and Reese Smith to the NFL Draft or transfer portal. Poke is joined by NC State transfer Devin Carter. With the Mountaineers expected to struggle in the Big 12 this season, it’s likely they will need to fight from behind in a bunch of games which could mean that Poke has a career year. Either Garrett Green or Nicco Marchiol are expected to be the quarterback throwing him the passes during the 2023 season.
