McKenney has been asked to step up in the absence of LJ Cason (knee), and so far the freshman has done just that. Through nine games sans Cason, McKenney has averaged 10.2 points and 2.9 boards while reaching double-digit scoring in three of four NCAA Tournament games. McKenney would be a figurehead for most D-1 teams, but the young guard coming off the bench for Michigan is truly a testament to Dusty May's depth.
